This privacy notice for the Professional Education & Research Institute (PERI, Company, we, us, our), describes how and why we might collect, store, use, and/or share (“process”) your personal information, such as when you visit our website or engage PERI’s services as a clinical research organization (CRO).
To Individuals who Participate in Studies
Please Note: If you participate in a medical research study being managed by PERI as a CRO or in other situations where PERI is participating in research studies, you will be provided with a separate privacy notice as part of the Informed Consent Form once you have agreed to take part in the study.
This Consent Form will be provided to you by the Study Site (i.e., the location where the study is being conducted), and all questions related to data collection during the study should be directed to the Sponsor.
Personal Information Provided by You. PERI collects limited personal information that you voluntarily provide to us when you express an interest in obtaining information about us or our Services or otherwise when you contact us:
Information Automatically Collected When You Visit Our Website. When you visit our website, we automatically collect information through cookies and similar technologies which may include information about your device and your usage of our website, including your IP address, browser type, operating system, domain name, access times, referring website addresses, location, information about how and when you engage with our website, and other technical information. This information is primarily needed to maintain the security and operation of our Services, and for our internal analytics and reporting purposes. Does PERI Collect Sensitive Personal Information? When you engage with us through our website, PERI does not collect sensitive personal information about you such as racial or ethnic origin, political opinions, religious/philosophical beliefs, trade union membership, genetic data, biometric data, health data, data about your sexual life or orientation, and offences or alleged offences.
Does PERI Collect Children’s Personal Information? No. PERI provides services directed at professionals and our website is intended for use only by those who are 18 years of age or over. We do not target children and we do not knowingly collect any personal information from children.
Please note: When acting as a CRO for its clients (i.e., Sponsors), sensitive or children’s personal information may be used by PERI to carry out the applicable studies and other study-related services. As described at the beginning of this Notice, proper notice and consent form for this collection will be provided to study participants or parents or guardians by the Sponsor at the Study Site.
PERI does not conduct digital marketing or send marketing email communications, and only processes your personal information for the following limited reasons:
We will not use your personal information for purposes that are incompatible with the above purposes unless it is required or authorized by law.
How do we share your personal information? We may disclose personal information we collect but will only do this for the purposes set out in How do we use your personal information? and only with vendors, service providers, or contractors (service providers) who perform services for us or on our behalf and require access to such information to do that work.
We have contracts in place with our service providers which are designed to help safeguard your personal information and to limit the use of the information to only those services under contract.
We may share or transfer your information in connection with, or during negotiations of, any merger, sale of company assets, financing, or acquisition of all or a portion of our business to another company; and may also have to share your personal information in response to authorized requests of government authorities or where required by law.

As described below in our Cookie Notice, you can manage your preferences through our Cookie Consent Management tool accessed directly on our website, block cookies by activating a setting on your browser allowing you to refuse cookies, and delete cookies through your browser settings.
As noted above, where PERI is the CRO for a study, the Sponsor is responsible for providing appropriate consent forms and notice regarding your privacy rights, including how you can exercise those rights.
The personal information we collect is processed at our offices in the United States and in any data processing facilities operated by authorized service providers. By submitting your personal information, you agree to this transfer, storing or processing by us.
Where your information is transferred outside the EEA or UK, we will take all steps reasonably necessary to ensure that your personal information is subject to appropriate safeguards, such as relying on a recognized legal adequacy mechanism (e.g., standard contractual clauses, data transfer agreements, etc.), and that it is treated securely and in accordance with this privacy notice.
We will only keep your personal information for as long as it is necessary for the purposes set out in this privacy notice, unless a longer retention period is required or permitted by law such as for tax, accounting, or other legal requirements.
When we have no ongoing legitimate business need to process your personal information, we will either delete or anonymize such information.

Susan Romberg, COO, has worked in the Biopharmaceutical industry for 30 years. Susan oversees Operations, Delivery, and client relations for PERI. Over her career, she has worked in Academics, Biotech, and the CRO industry globally. Her extensive drug development experience includes Phase I- IV and RWE trials.
Prior to her role at PERI, Susan was the Senior Vice President, Clinical Data Sciences at Premier Research. Susan began her career as a cardiac ICU nurse in the Philadelphia area. This led her to the University of Pennsylvania Clinical Trial Research Department, where she was the Manager of the Cognitive Neurology and Geriatric Psychiatry Clinical Trials. Susan is a member of numerous industry organizations.
