Unlike most CROs, our management team is involved with our sponsors from a strategic level AND throughout daily operations. This high level of customer service ensures that each step of PERI’s trials is well-run, cost effective, and produces quality results. Many CROs make promises. Our leadership team executes.
Charles M. Zelen, DPM
Founder & President
Dr. Charles Zelen, Founder and President of PERI, has over 20 years of clinical, academic, and industry experience in extremities, wound care, and biologic development programs. He has served as principal investigator and primary author on numerous wound healing randomized controlled trials. Dr. Zelen is Board Certified by the ABFAS. He received his BS in Psychobiology at the University of California at Riverside and his Doctor of Podiatric Medicine from the California School of Podiatric Medicine. He completed his residency at Inova Fairfax Hospital and received advanced training at Georgetown University Medical Center in Limb Salvage and Reconstruction. Dr. Zelen has volunteered with multiple charitable organizations, including organizations as far as Africa that bring children into the United States for Limb Salvage Surgery.
Nicole Fernandez
Director of Business Development
Nicole Fernandez, Director of Business Development, has more than 17 years of experience working in Clinical Operations. Before joining PERI, Nicole worked as a Manager of Clinical Operations. As a manager, she implemented process improvements, policy initiatives, and enhancements to clinical and business systems within the department. She received a BS in Health Administration Management from the University of Kansas.
Danielle Sanders
Director, Data Management
Danielle Sanders, Clinical Data Manager, has over 16 years of clinical research experience working as a Clinical Data Manager, Clinical Data Coordinator, Statistical Data Analyst, and Researcher. Prior to joining PERI, Danielle was a Clinical Data Manager at a Global CRO supporting start-up, maintenance, and close-out of Phase I-III studies in areas of pain, cardiovascular, CNS, and rare disease. Danielle graduated from The University of Cincinnati in Cincinnati, OH with a BA in Mathematics. She is an avid Cleveland Sports Fan and concert goer.
Carla Rossmann
Regulatory Affairs Manager
Carla Rossmann is a Regulatory Operations Manager and Quality Assurance Specialist with over 20 years of experience. She has several years of experience working cross-functionally to accomplish department and company goals while working at Abbott Labs and AbbVie before coming to Peri. Carla is a die-hard Chicago Cubs fan, and she loves spending time with her family at the many beautiful beaches where she lives in Florida.
Kelsea Filter
Marketing Manager
Kelsea Filter, Marketing Manager, oversees marketing and recruitment efforts for clinical trials. Her experience in healthcare includes working with private equity-backed medical practices and a non-profit hospital system. Kelsea received her BS in Public Relations and Advertising from Liberty University in Lynchburg, VA. She enjoys spending time by the water and hanging out with her boxer, Tillie.
